This one is a perfect game to challenge and excite the iiRcade family. “Once Upon a Time on Halloween” is a “Cuphead“ style gameplay with Halloween themed levels. The black and white graphics and design create the ultimate spooky Halloween feeling that draws the gamer to keep playing.

The controls are simple. You can move your character right and left, but on some levels up and down as well. The first level of the game is a “Tapper“ style level where you need to move up and down different paths to kill the ghosts and retrieve the extra items. Some level you can fly a ship and move around the level to shoot the enemy.

The Boss level are most challenging. It will take a lot of patience and skill to beat the boss levels without losing a life or two. Just know that you are enduring damage when you hit them, it just takes a little time.

You can’t review this game without mentioning the brilliant music and sound of “Once Upon a Time on Halloween”. The designers of the game really did wonders to the sounds of the game and music that goes along with each level.

The addition to a high score learerboard is always a plus on the iiRcade. I can see this game being very competitive on Halloween and beyond. What is also great is that the game is easy to pick up and play so any age can play this and get better each time they play. Also available on the Nintendo Switch, this game is really only played at its fullest on the iiRcade. You will need that iiRcade sounds and experience to really love enjoy the game At a $7.99 purchase price, you can’t go wrong getting this game and filling your iiRcade competitive needs.

Highlights on iiRcade:
– 5 different arcade gameplay genres all in one
– Twin-Stick pour option in fitting levels
– 5 boss fights
– 10 stages
– Global Leaderboardsa

CLUASCRAFT is a fun fast paced game of retrieving presents and dropping them off to the funnel that sends the gifts to the workshop. The game, made by InCiti GAMES, has leaderboards that keep the competition fresh and wanting to play more.

The rules of the game are pretty simple. You can choose your level of difficulty by the amount of presents per round. You can choose from 5 ,10 or 20. Each present has 20 seconds to be picked up and dropped in the funnel or you will lose 500 points each time. Once you grab the gift, you will have bonus points that count down pretty quickly and give you the mount left when the present is dropped off. The faster you drop it off the more points you will receive. Once all the presents are dropped of the round is over and you will go to the next one.

The first few levels offer a way to gather points and get used to the game. After that the net rounds will offer cannons that shoot at the Santa as well as obstacles that can get in your way.

I really enjoy the music of the game, however, i do wish it would change from time to time. The same music each level sometimes gets repetitive. Overall, this is must have game, even not around the holidays. It can be played all year long.

Chris Williams

Games aren’t just games. Sure, they can bring about great pride in gaming achievements, but more importantly, we’ve all had times that games massively affected our lives, whether they connected us with new friends, helped mend old relationships, or provided a distraction from the traumas of life. Before the apocalyptic age of the internet, people connected in person. We experienced life and made stories worth telling. But even in the digital age, one platform continues to connect people: video games. Whether it be experiences from long ago or building in-person relationships that began with online gaming, our heart containers are full with stories, both old and new, that began with a press of the power button or a drop of a quarter. These are some of those stories….

It’s no secret that fathers and sons don’t typically deeply connect on an emotional level. It’s just not in our DNA for dudes and dads to sit down together and share our feelings. That doesn’t mean we don’t enjoy each other’s company or wish to live in solitude (at least not always), we just need an activity to facilitate some form of engagement. For me and my Pops, we were fortunate to have two things in our lives, reasons to get together, have fun, and compete: basketball and video games. Now I won’t lie, catching a dime from my Pops up near the rim, hammering it home, and high fiving my Dad on the way back down the court was a pretty awesome experience, but we had just as many good times and made just as many memories holding an NES or SEGA controller at home. Plus we’re at an age now that we won’t be sprinting down a basketball court any time soon, but we’ll always be able to fire up Contra and take a trip back in time.

My earliest memory of playing games with my Dad was around 1981 in Carter’s Supermarket. They had a brand new Centipede arcade sitting right at the end of the first grocery aisle. I didn’t know what that huge machine was or what it did, but it was perfect! Dad dropped a quarter into the slot, and it made the coolest sounds! I wasn’t tall enough to see the screen, but when Dad said, “Go!,” I would reach as high as I could and tap a button as fast as I could. I didn’t know what I was doing, but I had the time of my life! No matter what may have been happening up there on the screen, I felt a connection with my Dad, we were doing something awesome! As I would later find out, we were killing bugs, spiders, and some weird beetle thing that dropped down from the top, turning all the shootable mushrooms into stone! I couldn’t wait for the next shopping trip!

Then as kids typically do, I grew up. Dads and kids and everyone else get busy with life. Kids get attitudes, parents get irritated, we lash out, we get angry, we pout, but no matter how hard-headed fathers and sons may be, we could always come back, pull up a chair, grab a controller, and fire up a game.

So many hours were spent competing head-to-head in nine hard fought innings of Hardball on the Sega Genesis! Boston vs. Chicago, every game ended in a difference of less than two runs, never a blowout. I’m sure the series is probably currently tied at around 500. Sewer Shark on the Sega CD was another go-to. Occasionally, you’ll still hear “Track it through the tubes!” ring throughout the house when the families get together. But the game that pushed our NES console to its limits was Contra! Every Christmas morning, Pops would ask, “I wonder if Santa brought the new Contra?” (He really didn’t know since Mom did the shopping). After tearing through the presents and finding the newest alien-killing adventure of Bill and Lance, we typically had it beaten before lunch time. (except Contra: Hard Corps, because Wow! That game is hard!…..corps)

I have so many other great memories of playing games with the most important people in my life. Mario Kart 64 with my Mom, NBA Jam and Retromania with my son, all-nighters of Duke Nukem 64 with my brother, and of course, every date night for over a year, playing Halo 3 online with my would-be wife! Yes, as they say, the frequency of Halo play after marriage is significantly less than during the dating years, but we still hop in the Warthog from time to time and light up overconfident 20-somethings, showing them the old folks can still whoop some tail!

But fathers and sons, with millions of years of evolution placing an emotional barrier between them and forcing them to talk only about sports and the weather, need something a little more, an extra push to engage and interact. Thanks to Centipede, Hardball, Sewer Shark, and Contra, I spent time with my Pops that non-gaming kids didn’t get to have with theirs. Today, when I walk into Carter’s Supermarket, I can still feel the excitement of smashing that button on Centipede and saving the world with my Dad!

“Wizard Of Walls” is a dungeon/maze shooter with retro mechanics inspired by the old arcade classic “Wizard Of Wor”. You play a warrior with a laser gun and have to shoot all monsters. If you touch a monster or get shot by a monster, you die instantly (no health bar, no regeneration). Everything becomes faster and faster. Your goal is to survive as many dungeons as you can.

Collect power-ups within the dungeon. The blue ones make you run faster, the orange ones make you shoot faster.

Every 5th dungeon is a spider dungeon. A horde of fast moving spiders crawl around and try to drop eggs. If you don’t shoot the eggs in time, 5 new spiders will be born.

The graphics on this independent game is top notch. It is an overheard maze like shooting game. The sounds as well really makes this game a must have in the iiRcade. This will be for sale for $9.99 in the iiRcade Store on January 20th, 2023. Check it out.

This one is a pretty good start. There are many aspects of the game I wish were different, but I am sure there will be updates to help with those.

Major Title 2 is an arcade-style golf simulation. The game is presented in a mixed perspective. The pre-shot perspective is a standard third-person view from just behind the golfer, but once the ball is hit, the view switches to a top-down perspective to track the ball in flight. Instead of setting the power and controlling the shot, the only function of the vertically oriented swing meter is to select the vertical angle of the shot

There are 2 courses as of now to choose from as well as 4 golfers with different attributes (power hitter, all-round player, technician, and magician). There is a career stats option where you put in your initials and birthday. If you play 18 holes, the stats will update. However, as of this article, the feature does not work. I know iiRcade can fix that. The greens are very tricky as the slopes look like a mini gold hole sometimes. Very hard to read but if you do it right it is an exciting way to make the putt.

If you want a pretty basic fun golf game to hold off until a possible trackball game one day, then this one will be perfect for the sports library.

Weather it in the arcade or on a console such as the Sega Master System. These games are super fun and difficult at the same time. R-Type LEO is a really good part of the series. It really shows how good the graphics are and the sound is amazing.

in R-Type LEO, players take control of the titular space fighter to travel the man-made mechanical planet Eden and destroy its supercomputer core Major.

This game is a bit different than the games before it. The most notable change is the removal of the Force, a shield item from previous installments that also acted as an additional source of firepower.

The power ups in the game make the ship weapons really powerful such as lasers and missiles.

The iiRcade does a great job porting this game in the machine. It really gives a true arcade feel and sounds amazing.

iiRcade will soon add four arcade titles from TAD Corporation to Game Store

iiRcade Inc., a premium home arcade console that allows gamers of all ages to play their favorite retro and modern games in a true arcade style, is pleased to announce that four classic arcade titles from TAD Corporation are coming soon to the iiRcade Game Store.

The four titles, all officially licensed by Tadashi “TAD” Yokoyama, Owner and Founder of TAD Corporation, include: Cabal, Blood Bros., Heated Barrel, and Toki.

“We’re happy to announce that these four retro titles from TAD Corporation are coming soon to our platform,” said Jong Shin, founder & CEO of iiRcade. “These retro games are a lot of fun and a good mix of classic run-and-gun shooters.”

More details and launch dates on each game, all of which are arcade versions:

Toki (available today), a run-and-gun platform game released in arcades in Japan in 1989, has the player controlling an enchanted ape who must battle hordes of jungle monsters with energy balls from his mouth. The ultimate goal is to destroy the evil wizard who cast a spell on the title protagonist; thereby transforming him from an ape back into a human and rescuing the kidnapped princess.

Blood Bros (available October 14th), a spiritual sequel to Cabal, was released in 1990 where two blood brothers, a cowboy and an Indian, team up to hunt down “the most wanted outlaw in Dodge City,” Big Bad John.

Innovative at the time for its unique over-the-shoulder camera view, Cabal (available November 4th) is an arcade shooter that was released in 1988. The game features commandos trying to destroy several enemy military bases with the use of limitless ammunition and a fixed number of grenades to fend off enemy troops.

Heated Barrel (available November 11th) is a cartoon style western shoot ‘em up from 1992 that features four playable characters. Each character has their own unique weapon that can be powered up by collecting various items as the fight off Outlaws and Ghosts through stages and bosses.

iiRcade Inc., a premium home arcade console that allows gamers of all ages to play their favorite retro and modern games in a true arcade style, is pleased to announce that SPACE INVADERS INFINITY GENE (“INFINITY GENE”), officially licensed by TAITO, is now available in the iiRcade Game Store for $9.99.

INFINITY GENE starts off looking much like the original SPACE INVADERS, but then evolves into an exciting new shoot ‘em up game experience.

The tracks are separated between Genetic, Adaptive, and Evolution. Genetic tracks are reminiscent of the original 8-bit arcade game, while Adaptive and Evolution tracks have a faster, fuller, more modern style.

INFINITY GENE also features a BGM Player mode, where players can create their own beats and tracks.

The launch of INFINITY GENE comes two weeks after SPACE INVADERS, the legendary arcade classic that was originally released in 1978, was released in the iiRcade Game Store on August 5th.

The new iiRcade Gold Edition, the latest addition to iiRcade’s line-up of premium home arcade consoles, is now available for $999, with four versions to choose from: Dead Cells, Dragon’s Lair, SPACE INVADERS and Black Edition with Double Dragon artwork.

Each iiRcade comes with 11 pre-loaded games: Dragon’s Lair, Double Dragon, Gunbird, Beach Buggy Racing, BombSquad (online multiplayer party game), Snowboard Championship, Diver Boy, Dragon Master, Maniac Square, Twin Brats and Fancy World, with more games downloadable, including free games, on the iiRcade store (https://iircade.store).
