In the late 1970s and early 1980s, adventure seekers explored digital caverns armed only with their keyboards and imaginations, hunting for treasures described entirely in text. Zork expanded on earlier text-based games like Colossal Cave Adventure by introducing a more advanced parser and a witty, distinctive narrator’s voice.
