It’s Rolling Thunder meets Indiana Jones! Released in 1990 by Data East, this multi-stage action platformer unfortunately never saw the light of day in the United States due to the regional release suddenly being canceled. Each level is highly action-packed as one or two players will find themselves whipping bad guys while driving a boat or a car, only to later finding themselves fighting for their lives on top of an airplane. I briefly played this game on MAME, and while it was fun to check out, MAME could not correctly display the moving backgrounds that the game contained. Thankfully, the iiRcade version functions just like the Japanese arcade original. It’s great to see that this game will finally get looked at by a bigger audience as it truly is a hidden gem. One of the deeper cuts of games available on the iiRcade library, The Cliffhanger: Edward Randy, is a must-have for action fans.

Edward Randy can be purchased for the iiRcade Cabinet by visiting the iiRcade store here: https://store.iircade.com/games/92

From the moment he touched an Intellivision controller in 1985, Mike knew that he had experienced something incredible in the world of video games that would shape him for the rest of his life. From that point forward, he would make it his mission to experience video games from every console generation going forward. Eventually, he would become obsessed with magazines that wrote about the games he loved, and it would inspire him to start writing about games himself in 1998 for various local media outlets. Always looking for an opportunity to branch out, Mike eventually coded the foundation of a website that would ultimately morph into Gamer Logic Dot Net, an independent video game site that continues to cover modern and classic video game today. Additional, Mike composes music for indie games under his other alias "Unleaded Logic"
