Gee, I can’t play Guitar Hero… or Rock Band… or any other guitar game. Why? Because I’ve played guitar in real rock bands for about 50 years and, to be honest, it’s a miracle I’m still alive. The one thing I always noticed about guitar games is that they leave out a bunch of stuff; the kind of stuff that makes being in a working rock band a very unique experience. No amount of pushing buttons as colored notes fly by on a TV screen can ever capture that experience. So, in order to illustrate this point, I’m going to share some the experiences I’ve had while wearing a six-string slung too low for too long to give it up now. Some of these might not be suitable for those with week stomachs, but what the heck… LET’S BOOGIE!
