Point and Click games are at the heart of the Retro game experience. They are smart, they often have great tunes and most of all, they make you think. For that reason alone, they have a cult fanbase among older gamers and are appreciated heavily by those who appreciate their design.

If you’ve never played a Point and Click game before, here’s a great list to get you started.

The Gabriel Knight Series: Easily one of the best games in the genre, it has amazing voice acting and a story that is absolutely cinematic as it takes you through a series of voodoo-inspired murders and an awesome investigator that gets caught up in the whole mess.

The Padre: I’m not saying this because I’m the voice of the main character. The Padre on Steam is a throwback title, you’ll definitely love. Message me if you get stuck!

The Shivah: Dave Gilbert is an amazing Point and Click dev and this game is an absolute love letter to the genre.

Alone in the Dark: This is one of the games that defined the genre and is absolutely a must-play.

Maniac Mansion: A romp wherever you play, go put the hamster in the microwave.
