With so much time on your hands, due to the outbreak of the Corona Virus, you may find yourself bored, restless, or both. We here at Old School Gamer understand that better than anyone and present to you five great RPG experiences to fuel a wonderful afternoon, days or even week of adventure.

Shadowrun: Not to be confused with the SNES game of the same name, Blue Sky’s version of the game was epic in scale, features and story. The isometric view of post-apocalyptic Seattle is still cool enough to bring the story to life, while the nifty Matrix-mode will spur your imagination for hours.

Shining in the Darkness: This first-person dungeon-drawler is the origin of the Sega Shining series and away from the sheer amount of random encounters, has aged beautifully.

King’s Bounty: Although more of a strategy game, with RPG elements, it’s a classic that’s incredibly tough, fun and lengthy and worthy of multiple playthroughs, thanks to your ability to make your own army with a slew of different types of creatures.

Secret of Evermore: Great combat, a fun story, a wonderful score make the spiritual successor to Secret of Mana just as good as the game it borrows so much from.

Robotrek: Not as difficult as some of the other games on the list, but a worthy RPG that can be beaten in about six hours. Perfect for a rainy day.
