While gaming has come a long way over the last decade and longer, in more ways than one. The technological advances made has seen games improve from a visual standpoint, as well as what they’re capable of delivering in terms of gameplay too. We have seen this throughout all game genres from Activision games to titles at PartyCasino, that everyone has benefited from an ever improving gaming experience. However, while modern games may be all the rage, there’s still many gamers who have a penchant for a classic, with some available to play in the online world.

Pac Man

Pac Man will go down as an all time classic, beginning life in the arcade world before being ported to different devices. Gamers can now enjoy the addictive Pac Man gameplay not only online, but on mobile too, with the game still as popular now as it’s ever been. A fun fact about Pac Man is that there was never an ending created in the original, as it was designed to be played indefinitely. However, one player did manage to bring the game to an end when storage ran out.

Pong

Pong is one of the first ever video games created, however, it started out life as a training exercise. Introduced by gaming giants Atari in the early 1970s, the table tennis style game made its way into shops, pubs and other venues, with its popularity continuing to grow at a rapid rate. Pong went on to make millions of dollars’ worth of profit, while also inspiring the video game era to begin.

Space Invaders

Space Invaders is without doubt a game that most people will have come across in their lifetime. It enjoyed global success in the late 70s and early 80s, with it still proving a popular retro game today. A simple shoot ‘em up alien game, Space Invaders was the first game to bring a difficulty curve to the table, with the action getting increasingly more challenging as players progressed. Space invaders also made use of a 4-note soundtrack too, something else which proved popular at the time.

Super Mario Bros.

Super Mario Bros. is one of the most popular and best loved game series of all time. The NES, which hit the market back in 1985, came bundled with the game and was an immediate hit with players. It proved to be an innovative title as it brought side scrolling to the gaming table for the first time, with Mario and Luigi then going on to become legendary gaming characters. Super Mario has proven to be that popular over the years, with further releases hitting the market, that it is currently the world’s best-selling video game franchise.
The four games above are arguably the best classic games to play in the online world right now, and they’re all available to play on mobile in some way, shape or form too. With sites dedicated to giving gamers the chance to enjoy some retro gaming action, it presents the perfect opportunity to step away from modern titles to embrace some nostalgia.
