iiRcade Inc., a premium home arcade console that allows gamers of all ages to play their favorite retro and modern games in a true arcade style, is pleased to announce that SPACE INVADERS, officially licensed by TAITO, will be available in the iiRcade Game Store on Friday, August 5th, 2022 for $7.99.
SPACE INVADERS was released in arcades in 1978 and became an instant global phenomenon since its debut. The goal is to defeat wave after wave of descending enemy Invaders with a horizontally moving laser to earn as many points as possible.

SPACE INVADERS popularized a more interactive style of gameplay, with the Invaders responding to the player-controlled cannon’s movement and was the first video game to popularize the concept of achieving a high score that could also be saved onto the machine.
The iiRcade version of SPACE INVADERS will feature:
- Three different visual modes: black & white, classic and color.
- Custom bezel artwork
- Moon backdrop just like in the classic arcade machine
The new iiRcade Gold Edition, the latest addition to iiRcade’s line-up of premium home arcade consoles, is now available for $999, with four versions to choose from: Dead Cells, Dragon’s Lair, SPACE INVADERS and Black Edition with Double Dragon artwork.
Each iiRcade comes with 11 pre-loaded games: Dragon’s Lair, Double Dragon, Gunbird, Beach Buggy Racing, BombSquad (online multiplayer party game), Snowboard Championship, Diver Boy, Dragon Master, Maniac Square, Twin Brats and Fancy World, with more games downloadable, including free games, on the iiRcade store (https://iircade.store).
The SPACE INVADERS Gold Edition of will also include a copy of SPACE INVADERS.
