Now this is the reason to have a iiRcade unit in your home.  This is one of dozens of arcade games I’m excited about seeing come to the platform and as of earlier this summer it appeared.  The developer Irem and Publisher Nintendo released this to arcades in 1987 and home console ports came out quickly afterwards but in my opinion never really got close to the arcade version.  From what I can tell this appears to be using the absolute original files and is in perfect emulation in the iiRcade system.  One of the ultimate SCHMUP’s out there many followed in it’s footsteps but never replicated the experience of R-Type.  Well worth the money on the iiRcade!
