In the 90s, Nintendo, Sega, and Sony held elaborate competitions that defined an era of eSports, with regional city qualifiers awarding a trip to a spectacular main event. A generation of gamers rose to the challenge, hoping to prove themselves as the best in the world! While the 1990 Nintendo World Championships is the best-known competition, Sega’s 1994 “Rock the Rock” in many ways surpassed it! As a winning competitor in both contests and many others, I’m excited to share a unique perspective behind the scenes of Sega’s peak event of all time!
