We here at Old School Gamer love animation too and it got us thinking- What flicks would make awesome retro games? We’ll, here we go with a few suggestions!

Onward: A Pixar-inspired Diablo Clone? For those that don’t know, Onward was an awesome flick that got lost in the COVID-19 pandemic. Watch it. But man, could have been a blast of a game.

Turning Red: A stealth action/beat-em-up that captures the essence of a 13-year-old hiding from her mom and a Red Panda fighting to see her favorite boy band? Yes! Take our money.

Ponyo: This Studio Ghibli flick is beautiful and just image the Cel-shaded sexiness here in a PS2 style.

The Secret of Kells: If you haven’t seen this Irish folklore-based animation, you should. It would have easily worked as an Okami-type game.

RPG OKC: A cult-classic animated short that combines elements of MTV’s Catfish and Dragon Warrior/Final Fantasy. Would be a blast of a game.
