The remaster fad has been prevalent in gaming for nearly a decade but the question remains as to why so many amazing games from the past are forgotten. Does the world really need a Last of Us, Spyro, Crash or Final Fantasy VII remaster?

In this exclusive Old School Gamer list, we share five amazing NES games that would make amazing modern remasters.

Faxanadu: This was an awesome side-scroller with early Metroidvania flare. It would be perfect today with the same gameplay formula and the bigger levels the original always deserved.

Pro Wrestling: It’s still one of the best wrestling games ever created and would be even better with updated visuals and more buttons.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Yes, the original. The one that gets no love. Remaster it.

Tecmo Bowl: The world needs more football games and this one is still amazing. Online gameplay alone would make this a huge hit.

Trojan: This forgotten gem from Capcom would be even better with a modern day coat of paint.
