When an opportunity to get involved in a Mini-Con in Kansas City came up with about 10 days to go before the event, I jumped at it. Contacting Cat, who runs the King Arcade for its owners Billy and Derek,I found out that they had done one of these events before but are trying some new things with this event and I was welcome to join in the fun the
following weekend.
Old School Gamer’s staff had some fun playing games and talking with retro gamers and got a couple new paid subscribers signed up for the magazine, plus had a nice weekend out chilling. These mini cons are cool, and something more arcades should consider doing in between any gamer or comic cons that are in the area.
