On December 23rd, Krikzz confirmed that the EverDrive GBA series now has a Pro version. The EverDrive Store of Krikzz has long had a reputation for excellent customizable flash cartridges. The recent Pro series of EverDrives has added new features to the cartridges such as menus and save states. The NES, SNES, Turbografx-16, and Genesis Pro cartridges represent a significant, premium quality jump over earlier Everdrive versions. And the EverDrive GBA Pro is no different.
Indeed, in some ways, the EverDrive GBA Pro is an even more impressive achievement. Some Game Boy Advance games made use of unusual sensors that can’t be easily emulated. These include a solar sensor for Boktai: The Sun is in Your Hand, allowing the player to use real-life sunlight to fight vampires, a tilt sensor for use in Kirby Tilt ‘n’ Tumble, and a gyro sensor for WarioWare: Twisted. This cartridge also has an isolated clock, allowing multiple games on the cartridge to use their own real-time clock instead of having to share with each other.
Other features distinct from the EverDrive GBA Mini include a customizable in-game menu, save states, and cheat codes. The EverDrive GBA Pro also has an emulation mode for games in the NES, Game Boy, and Game Boy Color ROM format. The EverDrive GBA Pro is available for purchase here, however, it is currently out of stock. All existing orders will start shipping in mid-January.
