What began as an “amusement game manufacturer” in 1958 turned into one of the biggest and influential game developers and publishers in the history of the gaming industry. Who would have thought Whack-A-Mole could have been the father to NBA Jam? Well, in a weird way, it actually did. For over 50 years, Midway, later Bally Midway and finally Midway Games Inc, was a birthplace of creativity in video gaming and pinball.

Now under the umbrella of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, many of the gaming titan’s creations live on, as Mortal Kombat, the brand’s most successful series continues to deal out fatalities to this day.
