The awesome news just keeps on coming! As we’ve recently been contacted by a good friend of ours through Facebook, that the brilliant Arcade game of ‘Mikie’ by Konami, with 8bit versions by Imagine. Has been ported over the Atari XL/XE by Krzysztof “Vega” Góra, Michał “Miker” Szpilowski, and Krzysztof “Kaz” Ziembik. A game in which playing as Mikie, you must complete a secret message in all levels of the game, to be delivered to your girlfriend who is in the playground.

This is what the website says (google translated) in brief about Mikie for the Atari XL/XE. “And we have another pearl from the era on Atari that we could not experience for years. When in the second half of the 1980s a brief description of the game “Mikie” appeared in Bajtek (number 3 from 1988), the Atars could read sadly, that this interestingly promising adventure of Miki at school is only available on ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64 and Amstrad. In the “rotten West”, as then defined everything that was west, north and south of the GDR, no nod was made towards 8-bit Atari, so after almost 40 years of “Atar” they decided to make this game themselves. And they did”.
