ININ Games together with TAITO are excited to announce TAITO MILESTONES for Nintendo Switch launching April 15th in Europe and North America! The special retro compilation of some true TAITO classics will be available through selected retailers and the Nintendo eShop.

I was able to preview this game and write about the game-play. I was familiar with most of these games as a child but still play some of them today on multiple platforms.  The idea of having them all in one game on the Nintendo Switch was very exciting.

The first go to game I always do with Taito is Elevator Action. It is one of my all time favorite arcade games. The game on the Nintendo Switch plays just as solid as I remember. The transformation onto the console platform looks really good as well as the sound is identical to the arcade. Some translation of arcade games to console platforms or plug in TV units do not replicate what the arcade experience gives you. This game on the switch does.

There were some game like Wild Western and The Fairyland Story which I have never played. It was really fun to easily load these games up on the Switch and play the old 1980’s games again.

The menu on the game is very user friendly and the controls using the switch controller is really easy. I recommend using the pro controller as sometime for me the joy-con controller is harder to control the characters, but thats just my preference.

I do wonder why there could not be more than 10 games on the cartridge. I assume there would be plenty of space to put more retro game on the game. Some classics I would have liked to see such as Arkanoid, The Legend of Kage and Tiger-Heli. There may be a few games on the list below that may not get a lot of gameplay, but its always a gamble to know what the retro gamers like and do not like, so I understand choosing 10 games over others.

The Games
1981 – QIX
1981 – SPACE SEEKER
1982 – ALPINE SKI
1982 – WILD WESTERN
1982 – FRONT LINE
1983 – Chack’n Pop
1983 – ELEVATOR ACTION
1985 – The FairyLand Story
1986 – HALLEY’S COMET
1987 – THE NINJAWARRIORS
