McGeezer has been a name mentioned many times on Indie Retro News, as he has not only released some really amazing games such as the Arcade conversion of Rygar, the Arcade conversion of Turbo Sprint and Bomb Jack Beer Edition (link), but as from May or June he is also going to release the upcoming game of Devil’s Temple : Son of the Kung-Fu Re-Master. Well here with another McGeezer news story, as thanks to Saberman contacting us today, he has told us McGeezer has released the hack/speed improved Amiga version of Rolling Thunder; a game originally released 1986/7 via the Arcades and home systems such as the Commodore 64, Amiga, Nintendo Entertainment System, Amstrad CPC, Atari ST and ZX Spectrum.

Here is what McGeezer says about this latest release via EAB “Might get wrong for it but in the zone is Rolling Thunder unbleeped featuring the replacement of some heavy lifting CPU routines with those from our beloved blitter, several other routines changed along with some other Amiga centric fun to make the game run more than 7 frames a second on a A500 with 0.5 slow ram. Big thanks to CodeTapper for telling me the infamous story of how Tiertex left what is likely 80% of the finished source code on the original disk (idiots) and big thanks to Asman for doing a stellar job of actually disassembling and commenting on the game and allowing me to peek at his work, amazing stuff”.
So there you have it, another great release from Mcgeezer! So all you have to do now is either view the discussion thread for more developments or the download linked here.
