During the late 80’s Namco released a brilliant arcade racing game called Pole Position; a game which was designed by Tōru Iwatani, designer of Pac-Man, ending up as one of the most popular arcade racing games of 1982-3. Well if you remember this game AND you played it on one of the many systems this game came on, you’ll be pleased to know Saberman has contacted us to let us know that AJ Layden has released his Pole Position inspiration of Super Monza Grand Prix for the 16K expanded Commodore VIC 20.

Super Monza Grand Prix is a racing game inspired by Pole Position and other racing games from the 1980’s and 1990’s. In this latest release from AJ Layden, the ultimate goal is not only try to complete the course racing against the clock, but you must also win against other racers for that top position. The game not only looks like it is a lot of fun to play, but it’s completely free and as such we recommend anyone to give it a try on their Vic20!
