Way back in 1987, System 3 released one of the greatest action adventure games ever to be made available for the C64. It was none other than ‘The Last Ninja’, which also saw a number of ports released for the Apple IIGS, MS-DOS, BBC Micro, Acorn Electron ,Apple II, Amiga, Atari ST and ZX Spectrum (as Last Ninja Remix). But what glorious news today as we’ve been informed by Saberman, that the legendary game of The Last Ninja is coming to the Atari XL/XE, with a demo build available to try out below!

The aim of the original game was to guide the ninja Armakuni on his journey to the palace of the evil shogun Kunitoki to assassinate him, avenging his clan, and retrieve the sacred scrolls. It was a blend of adventure, exploration, puzzle solving and ninja based combat. Unlike the original game however, Last Ninja is being created for the Atari XL/XE by Jakus Husak and will be a complete port of the BBC Micro version!

The game was ported as close as the original, with only minor changes in graphics. It is for now first level playable demo only, one day short of covering all levels… The porting has begun in the half of December, 2022, so porting this took only three weeks.
